Key takeaways
- Two separate charges. Ro’s Body membership is $39 the first month, then $149. Medicine comes on top: $149 for the Wegovy pill or Foundayo, $199 for the Wegovy pen and $299 for Zepbound, at starting doses (checked November 1, 2026).
- Higher doses cost more. Zepbound’s $449 (7.5 to 15 mg) needs a refill within 45 days, or it’s $499 to $699. The Wegovy pen is $349 after two $199 starter months, and the Wegovy pill $299 from 9 mg.
- A first year of Zepbound through Ro costs $7,315 on the monthly membership, in our dose example. Prepaying the membership for a year ($39, then $888 up front) brings it to $6,564.
- Insurance helps with the medicine only. Ro’s concierge works with your plan for the Wegovy pen, the Zepbound pen and Ozempic. Insurance doesn’t pay the membership, and Ro doesn’t take HSA or FSA cards.
- At NexLife, compounded tirzepatide is $139 a month on the 12-month plan, or $169 month to month, and semaglutide $119 or $139, at every dose, with no membership fee. It’s a different product, and it isn’t FDA-approved.
At a glance
Ro’s cost at a glance
Ro sells its weight-loss care as a membership, called Ro Body, and bills the medicine separately. Each fact below comes from Ro’s own pages, read November 1, 2026.
| Who runs it | Ro, a telehealth company: Roman Health Ventures Inc. and its affiliates. Ro-affiliated providers decide whether to prescribe. |
|---|---|
| Membership | $39 the first month, then $149 a month. Or $99, $89 or $74 a month if you prepay 3, 6 or 12 months. |
| Medicine | A separate charge. Ro says its cash prices match LillyDirect, NovoCare and TrumpRx. |
| Medicines listed | The Wegovy pill and pen, the Foundayo pill, Zepbound (KwikPen or pen) and Ozempic. Its pricing page lists no compounded medicine. |
| Medicine prices | Wegovy pill $149 to $299 a month. Foundayo $149 to $349. Wegovy pen $199 to $399. Zepbound $299 to $699, by dose and refill timing. |
| Insurance | Ro’s concierge works with your insurance for the Wegovy pen, the Zepbound pen and Ozempic. Insurance doesn’t cover the membership. |
| HSA and FSA | Ro doesn’t accept HSA or FSA cards. It says you can send a detailed receipt to your HSA provider. |
| Extra fees | $15 for each medical consult after 24 in a year, and a fee for extra lab tests, its terms say. |
| If you’re not eligible | Ro says it refunds the $39 if you’re not eligible for |
| Canceling | In your Ro account or by email, at least 48 hours before renewal. Paid membership fees aren’t refunded. |
Membership
What does the Ro Body membership include?
Care and support, not medicine. Here’s what Ro lists, and what costs extra.
- A provider and a plan. A Ro-affiliated provider reviews your health and, if you’re eligible, prescribes a
GLP-1 with a personalized treatment plan. - Messages and check-ins. 1:1 messaging with your provider, regular check-ins, and help with side effects and dose changes. Its terms allow up to 24 medical consults a year.
- Insurance help. A dedicated insurance concierge checks your coverage, handles prior authorization paperwork and can appeal a denial.
- Coaching and tools. 1:1 health coaching, weight tracking and dose logging, and lab testing if your provider orders it.
- Not included: the medicine, billed separately. Each consult after the 24th costs $15, and extra lab tests are billed by test.
Care hours. Ro’s terms say medical care runs Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern, except holidays. Your provider reviews messages within 48 hours or sooner, and the program isn’t an emergency service.
Who it’s for. Adults whose Ro-affiliated provider finds they meet the clinical criteria. Depending on your health review, your provider may ask for a metabolic lab test, Ro says.

By dose
What does each medicine cost at Ro, by dose?
Ro lists a cash price for each dose, and the $149 membership comes on top. Higher doses cost more.
| Medicine and dose | Medicine, a month | All in, with the $149 membership |

Ro’s cash prices from its pricing page and its Zepbound and Foundayo pages, plus the $149 monthly membership, checked November 1, 2026. The Wegovy pen’s $199 is for new patients who sign up by December 31, 2026.
The drugmakers’ own prices. Ro says its cash prices are the same as LillyDirect’s, NovoCare’s and TrumpRx’s. We checked Lilly’s LillyDirect and Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy price pages on November 1, 2026, and they match.
Prepaid, it’s $75 less. On the 12-month membership, each all-in figure above drops by $75 a month.
The 45-day rule. Zepbound’s $449 (7.5 to 15 mg) needs a refill within 45 days, or it’s $499 to $699. Ro says you must finish your refill check-in within 45 days of your last delivery. Foundayo works the same way at 14.5 and 17.2 mg: $299 on time, $349 later.
What a month means. A Zepbound KwikPen holds four weekly doses, and Lilly counts a month as 28 days. A Wegovy month is a box of four pens or a bottle of 30 tablets, Novo Nordisk says.
Your first month. It’s $39 for the membership plus the medicine: $188 to $338 at starting doses.
Ozempic and the Zepbound pen. Ro checks insurance for both. Without coverage, Ro gives Ozempic’s list price as $900 to $1,100; it’s approved for type 2 diabetes and prescribed off-label for weight loss. For the single-dose Zepbound pen, you can pay the list price, which Ro’s pages don’t show.
Prepaying
Does prepaying Ro’s membership save money?
Yes, on the membership. After the $39 first month, Ro charges by the plan you choose: $149 a month, or $99, $89 or $74 a month paid up front for 3, 6 or 12 months.
| Membership plan | A month | How it’s billed | Paid in your first 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthlyafter the $39 first month | $149 | Every month | $1,678 $39 + 11 × $149 |
| 3-monthprepaid | $99 | $297 every 3 months | $1,227 $39 + 4 × $297; covers 13 months |
| 6-monthprepaid | $89 | $534 every 6 months | $1,107 $39 + 2 × $534; covers 13 months |
| 12-monthprepaid | $74 | $888 once a year | $927 $39 + $888; covers 13 months |

Ro’s membership plans from its pricing page, checked November 1, 2026. Ro puts the savings at $600, $720 and $900 a year against the monthly plan; the charges and totals are our math.
- Paid fees stay paid. Ro’s terms say a membership fee isn’t refunded once paid. If you cancel a prepaid plan early, the membership runs to the end of the period you paid for.
- It renews on its own. Every plan renews at the price and frequency shown at checkout until you cancel. Cancel at least 48 hours before the renewal date to stop the next charge.
- It bills even if you stop medicine. The terms say the membership keeps renewing if you don’t request or receive medication, until you cancel.
- Medicine has its own prepay plans. Ro calls them Prepay & Save and says they can save up to 37% on eligible medicines. Its pricing page doesn’t list those prices, so our math uses the monthly ones.
- Not eligible? The $39 comes back. Ro says it refunds the $39 if you’re not eligible for
GLP-1s. Its terms add that the renewing membership starts only once a provider prescribes.
From Ro’s terms of use, section 4 (revised April 2, 2026), and its returns and refunds page, read November 1, 2026. Ro says prescription products can’t be returned, and all sales are final.
Insurance
Does Ro take insurance?
Not for the membership. Ro’s insurance concierge helps you use your own coverage for three medicines: the Wegovy pen, the Zepbound pen and Ozempic.
- Three medicines can use insurance. Ro says only the Wegovy pen, the Zepbound pen and Ozempic can be covered through it right now. The Wegovy pill, the Zepbound KwikPen and the Foundayo pill are cash-pay only.
- You pay your copay at the pharmacy. If your plan covers your medicine, it’s billed separately through the pharmacy, and you may pay only a copay.
- You still pay the membership. Insurance doesn’t cover the Ro Body membership, and Ro’s terms call Ro Body cash pay only.
- Approval takes time. Ro says a prior authorization usually takes about 1 to 2 weeks. If coverage is denied, its concierge can appeal, or your provider may suggest another medicine.
- If insurance says no, you can pick a cash-pay medicine or cancel the membership, Ro says.
- Cash prices stay outside insurance. For Lilly’s self-pay medicines, Ro’s terms have you agree not to seek reimbursement from insurance, or count what you pay toward a deductible or Medicare Part D out-of-pocket costs.
With insurance, the math changes. Your cost is the membership plus your copay: $1,678 for the membership alone in your first 12 months on the monthly plan, or $927 prepaid. If your plan covers one of these medicines, your copay may cost less than any cash price, ours included.
HSA and FSA. Ro doesn’t accept HSA or FSA cards. It says you can submit a detailed receipt to your HSA provider after you pay. At NexLife, you can pay with an HSA or FSA card, and we provide a letter of medical necessity. More in tirzepatide with an HSA or FSA.

Listed by first-year cost, highest first. Each company’s prices from its own site, checked November 1, 2026; our dose examples are under the table. Different products: Zepbound and Wegovy are FDA-approved, and compounded tirzepatide and semaglutide aren’t.
How we counted. Zepbound: one four-week fill at 2.5 mg, one at 5 mg, then 11 at 7.5 mg or higher, each within 45 days of the last (13 fills). The Wegovy pen: two boxes at the new-patient price, then 11 at 1 to 2.4 mg (13 boxes of four weekly pens). The Wegovy pill: one bottle at 1.5 mg, one at 4 mg, then 10 at 9 or 25 mg (12 bottles of 30). The prepaid membership is $39 plus $888, which also covers month 13. Your provider sets your doses.
Where the money goes. In our Zepbound example, the membership is $1,678 of the $7,315. Buying the same medicine from LillyDirect skips it, but you need your own prescriber. Here’s what Zepbound costs without insurance, every route.
Compounded
How does Ro’s total compare with compounded programs?
Month to month, compounded tirzepatide costs a median of $237 all in, against $598 for Zepbound through Ro from 7.5 mg with refills within 45 days. They’re different products.
A month, all in, month to month, highest first. Ro with its $149 monthly membership, checked November 1, 2026; compounded medians from our
The gap is mostly the medicine. At 7.5 mg and up, Zepbound alone is $449 a month through Ro with a refill within 45 days, or $499 to $699 later. The membership adds $149 on top. In our index, nine of the 14 compounded tirzepatide programs say their price is the same at every dose.
Different products. Ro lists FDA-approved, brand-name medicines. Compounded tirzepatide and semaglutide aren’t FDA-approved, and a licensed provider prescribes one only when it offers a significant difference for you. The FDA explains what approval means:
“This means that FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness or quality of compounded drugs before they are marketed.”
One of the most affordable. NexLife’s 12-month plan for compounded tirzepatide is $139 a month, and its $169 month-to-month price is $68 under the $237 median of the 14 programs in our index. Our guide to Ro weight loss alternatives compares three options on price and care.
Our Price Match Guarantee† doesn’t cover Ro. It matches the regular monthly price you pay another licensed U.S. telehealth provider or clinic for compounded tirzepatide or semaglutide, and Ro sells brand-name medicine. See the terms.
At NexLife
Switching from Ro, step by step
Time it to your renewal date, and bring your dose details to your new provider.

A licensed provider reviews your history and current medicine, online or by secure video where your state requires a live visit, and decides what fits.
Moving from Zepbound or Wegovy to a compounded medicine is a new prescription, and your provider sets the dose. Ro’s terms suggest talking to your Ro-affiliated provider before you stop a medicine.

Ro weight loss cost: your questions
How much does Ro cost for weight loss?
Ro weight loss costs $298 to $448 a month at starting doses: a $149 monthly membership ($39 the first month) plus $149 for the Wegovy pill or Foundayo, $199 for the Wegovy pen or $299 for Zepbound (checked November 1, 2026). Higher doses cost more: Zepbound’s $449 (7.5 to 15 mg) needs a refill within 45 days, or it’s $499 to $699. Prepaying the membership cuts it to $99, $89 or $74 a month.
How much is the Ro Body membership?
$39 for the first month, then $149 a month on the monthly plan, or $99, $89 or $74 a month if you prepay 3, 6 or 12 months (checked November 1, 2026). The medicine is billed separately. On the monthly plan, the membership alone comes to $1,678 in your first 12 months.
Does the Ro membership include medication?
No. Ro says the cost of medication isn’t included in the Ro Body membership fee: it’s a second charge, at cash prices that match LillyDirect and NovoCare, or your copay if insurance covers it. At NexLife, the monthly price includes the medication, with no membership fee: compounded tirzepatide is $139 a month on the 12-month plan or $169 month to month.
How much is Zepbound through Ro?
Ro’s Zepbound KwikPen is $299 a month at 2.5 mg, $399 at 5 mg and $449 from 7.5 to 15 mg, plus the membership (checked November 1, 2026). The $449 (7.5 to 15 mg) needs a refill within 45 days, or it’s $499 to $699. With the $149 monthly membership, that’s $448 to $598 a month when you refill on time. Compounded tirzepatide, a different product that isn’t FDA-approved, is $139 a month on NexLife’s 12-month plan or $169 month to month.
How much is Wegovy through Ro?
Ro’s Wegovy pill is $149 a month at 1.5 mg, $199 at 4 mg and $299 at 9 or 25 mg (checked November 1, 2026). The Wegovy pen is $199 for a new patient’s first two months at 0.25 and 0.5 mg, if you sign up by December 31, 2026, then $349, or $399 for Wegovy HD 7.2 mg. The $149 membership comes on top. At NexLife, compounded semaglutide is $119 a month on the 12-month plan or $139 month to month, at every dose.
Does Ro offer compounded tirzepatide?
Not on its pricing page: on November 1, 2026, Ro listed only FDA-approved, brand-name medicines, with Zepbound for tirzepatide. Its terms say members may be prescribed compounded medication during national drug shortages. Compounded tirzepatide is a different product, and it isn’t FDA-approved; at NexLife it’s $139 a month on the 12-month plan or $169 month to month.
Does Ro take insurance?
Not for the membership, which Ro’s terms call cash pay only. Ro’s insurance concierge helps you use your own coverage for three medicines: the Wegovy pen, the Zepbound pen and Ozempic (checked November 1, 2026). If you’re covered, you pay the membership plus your copay at the pharmacy.
Can I use an HSA or FSA card at Ro?
No: Ro says it doesn’t accept HSA or FSA cards at this time, though you can submit a detailed receipt to your HSA provider after you pay (checked November 1, 2026). At NexLife, you can pay with an HSA or FSA card, and NexLife provides a letter of medical necessity.
Can I cancel Ro anytime?
Yes: cancel in your Ro account or by email at least 48 hours before your next renewal, and the membership runs to the end of the period you’ve paid for (Ro’s terms, revised April 2, 2026). Paid membership fees aren’t refunded, so leaving a prepaid plan early doesn’t return the rest. At NexLife, plans renew until you cancel by email or phone, with 30 days’ notice.
Can I switch from Ro to NexLife?
Yes, if a licensed provider decides it’s right for you: start online in about 3 minutes. Moving from Zepbound or Wegovy to a compounded medicine is a new prescription, and compounded medicines aren’t FDA-approved. Compounded tirzepatide at NexLife is $139 a month on the 12-month plan or $169 month to month, with no membership fee.
Important safety information
Compounded tirzepatide and semaglutide are not FDA-approved, and the FDA hasn’t reviewed them for safety, effectiveness or quality. A provider prescribes them only when they offer a significant difference for you compared with an FDA-approved product. Both medicines may cause thyroid tumors, including cancer: don’t use either if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
Read the full safety information
In studies with rodents, both medicines caused thyroid tumors; it isn’t known whether they cause them in people. Tell your provider if you notice a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing or shortness of breath. Serious side effects can include inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), gallbladder problems, low blood sugar (especially with insulin or sulfonylureas), kidney problems from dehydration, severe stomach problems, serious allergic reactions, vision changes in people with type 2 diabetes, and a faster heart rate. Tell your care team before any surgery or procedure that uses anesthesia or deep sedation. Don’t combine either medicine with other
Tirzepatide can make birth control pills less effective: switch to a non-oral method, or add a barrier method such as condoms, for 4 weeks after you start and for 4 weeks after each dose increase. Both medicines may harm an unborn baby. Semaglutide should be stopped at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy. Tell your provider right away if you’re pregnant, planning to be, or breastfeeding.
This is a summary, not the complete safety information. Read the full Prescribing Information for FDA-approved tirzepatide (Zepbound) and semaglutide (Wegovy), and talk with your provider. You can report side effects to the FDA at
